Massage therapy is a highly effective and drug-free approach to pain management that has been practiced for centuries. This hands-on technique involves manipulating soft tissues and muscles to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, and promote relaxation. This holistic approach to pain relief, addresses not only the physical symptoms but also the emotional and psychological aspects of pain. Massage therapy can be helpful for various types of pain, including acute pain(it just started) and chronic(happening for a long time) conditions such as back, neck or extremity pain, joint pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. It works by increasing blood circulation, which helps in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to affected areas, while also aiding the removal of metabolic waste products. The release of endorphins during a massage session can act as natural painkillers, promoting a sense of well-being and reducing pain perception. With its minimal risk of side effects and its focus on the body's natural healing abilities, massage therapy is a valuable component of integrative pain management strategies that prioritize drug-free alternatives.

Q. Did you go to school? Do you have a license?
A. Yes Idaho requires massage therapists to attend formal massage therapy training at the highest quality standards. At the end of that training we take a state licensing test along with other medical professionals at a state testing facility.
Q. Do I take off all my clothes?
A. In massage therapy we say something like,“go ahead and dress down to your comfort level” and then we instruct you how we would like you to lay on the table making sure that you are covered and that your modesty is protected at all times. Whether you choose to dress all the way down to being nude or if you prefer to leave your underwear or as many clothes on as you prefer we will give you a massage that protects your modesty at all times. If you leave some or all of your clothes on it limits the therapist as to what techniques they might employ. If you dress all the way down to being nude, there are draping techniques that are used with a sheet and blanket or towels, that make sure that your genitals and/or breasts are securely covered, never exposed and you would never feel like you have been naked in front of your practitioner. As a practitioner I would encourage you to feel comfortable taking all of your clothes off as I believe that that gives the best possible massage.
Q. My friend got a massage and said it was very painful and that he was very sore for the next couple of days, is this going to hurt?
A. A light to medium pressure massage will have no pain involved. Medium to firm pressure may have slight tenderness in certain areas. Deep tissue massage therapy can cause pain during the massage and soreness the next day or so. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because when there are tight bound up muscles, it takes pressure and proper deep tissue therapy techniques to get them to release and relax. The depth of pressure is guided by you the client. We will discuss your personal needs and preferences as far as depth of pressure at the beginning of each massage.
Q. Can you help me get on and off of the massage table?
A. No. Due to liability issues if you have mobility concerns that cause you not to be able to get on and off of the table by yourself you will need to bring an aid or a family member or friend to help you get on and off of the table they can stay in the room while you get your massage or they can wait in a waiting area.
Q. Can a minor under the age of 18 get a massage?
A. Yes. Their parent or guardian must remain in the treatment room during the massage.
Q. Can you fix my, _____?
A. No. Massage therapy is considered complementary medicine, we can not and do not fix things. Our role is to complement what your doctors, chiropractors or physical therapists might be doing to fix or address specific problems.
Q. Can you do couples massage.
A. No not at this time.
